Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable locking of a key shaft in a 2-operation type steering lock device either by pushing or by pulling of a manual operating member by providing two engaging parts on said operating member which locks the key shaft. CONSTITUTION:A circumferential cam which rotates with the key cylinder has a recessed part 6b formed thereon, said recessed part 6b acting on a follower 25, two engaging holes 29a and 29b being formed at two locations on a manual operating member 27 which works together with said cam mechanism, said engaging holes 29a and 29b accomodating the follower 25 when a knob 28 is either pushed or pulled to move the manual operating member 27 which is normally at the neutral position by the spring force thereby providing a safety lock for the key shaft which locks the steering.
