Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the coupling torque as well as the non-coupling torque thereof by a method wherein the arrangement of a part of an outer disc group and a part of an inner disc group is changed so that they are contacted directly without interposing the opposing discs between them. CONSTITUTION:The outer discs 1 have a plurality of notches corresponding to a key 11 and are attached to a follower 5 slidably in the axial direction thereof by engaging the notches with the key 11. An input shaft 12 is supported rotatably at the terminal part of an output shaft 4 and is provided with spline teeth 13 at the outer periphery thereof while a plurality of inner discs 2 and an armature 3, having notches corresponding to the spline teeth 13, are fitted thereto slidably in the axial direction thereof. In this case, the order of the normal outer disc 1a and the inner disc 2a is changed and two sheets of the outer discs and the inner discs are arranged continuously to reduce the coupling torque as well as the non- coupling torque thereof.
