Abstract

PURPOSE: An ultraviolet-curable binding tape with large strength after curing not ruptured by the application of winding tension, which is obtd. by incorporating a glass fiber in a mixture consisting of an ultraviolet-curable resin and polyvinyl formal.
CONSTITUTION: A tape comprising a resin component consisting of a mixture of an ultraviolet-curable resin and polyvinyl formal, and a glass fiber, pref. comprising a resin component obtd. by mixing 100pts.wt. ultraviolet-curable resin with 10W40pts.wt. polyvinyl formal, and a glass fiber. The ultraviolet-curable resin is a vinyl ester synthesized from an epoxy resin and methacrylic or acrylic acid. It is possible to use the ultraviolet-curable resin mixed with a filler, colorant, flame retardant and plasticizer which do not deteriorate adhesive force or transparency of the tape.
