Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the formation of color by using a specific fluoran deriva- tive and a benzyl oxybenzoate compound as a color-forming agent and a color- developing agent for heat-sensitive recording material. CONSTITUTION:A specific fluoran compound as a color-forming agent which is expressed by the formulaI(wherein R1 and R2 are hydrogen or a low-rank alkyl group) or by the formula II (wherein R3 and R4 indicate hydrogen or a low- rank alkyl, circular alkyl or allyl group, or indicate a heterocycle having an N atom), and P-oxy-benzoate as a color-developing agent which is expressed by the formula III (wherein R5 is a direct-chain or side-chain low-rank alkyl group and R6 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl group) are used for a heat-sensitive recording material. In addition to the fluoran derivative and p-oxybenzoate, a binder is used, and the respective applied quantities are about 1-30%, 40- 90% and 5-50%. The recorded picture thus obtained proves to have little fading and fogging of the ground.
