Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve uniformity of products during molding process of a radial tire, by a method wherein variation of radius in a tire crown part is detected by waveform before and after applying a breaker layer of a tread layer thereon, and projection and recess are cancelled with each other corresponding to the waveform variation. CONSTITUTION:A green tire 1 is deformed in troidal shape by combining a carcass layer 15 with a bead wire 16 and a side wall 17, and a breaker layer 7 is applied to the crown part of the tire. The green tire 1 is put onto a former 3 supported by a molding drum shaft 2, and a displacement detector 4 for detecting the projection and recess is installed to the crown part. If the detecting roller 6 of the displacement detector 4 is contacted with the surface of the breaker layer 7 and the tire 1 is rotated one round, the roller 6 generates wave form signal corresponding to one round as output of the detector 4. Since the molding machine automatically rotates or stops the projection and recess of the tire to a prescribed position based on the waveform signal, molding workers can easily correct the projection and recess in each revolution angle based on amplitude value in digital notation.
