Abstract

PURPOSE:To focus the clear coded pictures of plural sensors and to improve the reading ratio by using a miniaturized light discharge tube, etc. discharging the large quantity of light as a light source for irradiating a coded information surface, and repeating the reading operation of plural reading sensors circulatively. CONSTITUTION:Irradiated light from the flash light discharge tube 1A of a light transmitting part 1 is radiated to a card 3 in which the bar code of optically coded information is recorded. The reflected light from the card 3 is read by an image sensor 2 which is a charge accumulating type reading sensor consisting of plural photoelectric converting elements continuously arrayed on the reading line. Video signals obtained by circulative reading operation of these photoelectric converting elements are converted into parallel digital signals by a data converting part 5. At the time, a synchronous signal is applied from a microcomputer to the converting part 5. These operations are executed by a synchronous clock pulse generated from a standard clock generating part 7 through a timing control means and the pulse of the generating part 7 is applied to the light emitting part 1, the image sensor 2, the converting part 5, etc.
