Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a good result of coupling although without so much accuracy of work, in case of a coupling drive system between a cam shaft and a rotary shaft of a distributor by composing a distributor drive coupling with a board-like member so as to have it engaged with an engine cam shaft with elasticity. CONSTITUTION:A concave groove 8a forming a drive coupling part and a coupling projection 66a of a coupling 66 can be closely engaged with each other in the direction of rotation since the coupling 66 is formed with a board-like member. Accordingly, even if change of periodic angular velocity is produced on a cam shaft 8 during engine operation, the change is certainly transmitted to a distributer rotating shaft 4 so that the time of ignition is accurately determined at the predetermined timing by the distributor. The coupling 66 is formed by bending a board so as to hold a coupling hole 66b and a coupling projection 66a in common and a projection 66c is previously provided with property of a spring. Therefore, neither highly precise width nor accurate grade of centering is required for either of the projections 66a or the concave groove 8a of the cam shaft 8.
