Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a good reflection surface without requiring a buffing stage which requires considerable time and is difficult to handle by forming a ground surface to be applied with an Al metallic film on the surface of a pressed steel plate with specific stages. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate is pressed to form a body 1 of a reflecting mirror, and the inside surface to serve as a reflection surface is degreased by an alkali without polishing, whereby the surface is prepared. Thereafter, a zinc phosphate coating film 2 is formed thereon to assist the adhesion of paint and to improve corrosion resistance. Thence, a paint film 3 is formed by baking of epoxy paint in cationic electrodeposition painting in order to assure corrosion resistance and to smooth the surface. Clear painting is applied thereon as a ground surface for the Al metallic film. UV curing epoxy or polyester resins are used for this paint and the paint is hardened by the irradiation with a high pressure mercury vapor lamp. Further, in order to obtain good smoothness, a clear thermosetting or UV curing paint film 5 of melamine or urethane type is applied on said film 4, and an Al metallic film 6 is formed thereon by vacuum deposition or the like.
