Abstract

PURPOSE:To differ the sizes of dots according to the pitches of a scanning line by forming the dots of the imaging spots of the imaging beam of a light beam. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 5 rotates in the direction of an arrow A and its surface is electrostatically charged uniformly with an electrostatic charger 6, after which the parts irradiated with the light beam from an array laser 1 are destaticized and an electrostatic latent image is formed on the drum 5. This latent image is visualized by a developing device 7 and is transferred onto transfer paper 10 by a transfer charger 8. Now, the laser 1 is installed in such a way that the light source 1A comes to the focal position of a collimator lens 2. The light source 1B is installed in the position deviated from the focal position of the lens 2, and the lens 2, and a scanning mirror 3 are arrayed in parallel with the lens 4. The light beams emitted from both light sources 1A, 1B are deflected and scanned by the mirror 3 and are imaged by imaging spots in the imaging position of the drum 5.
