PURPOSE:To enable normal copying even when a copying mode is changed over carelessly during copying operation, by inhibiting changeover of the copying mode during copying operation, storing a mode changeover signal, and changing over the mode with a changeover signal after the copying operation. CONSTITUTION:Equal size and size reduction switch circuits 1, 2 for use in selection of a copying mode are installed in the operation part of a copying apparatus, these outputs C, E are sent to the set terminals of FF circuits 4, 5, the outputs of these FF circuits F, G are sent to the input terminals of AND circuits 6, 7, and these outputs are sent to a timing control circuit 9. The output of an initial signal producing circuit 3 consisting of an integration circuit and an inverter circuit 17 is provided to the reset terminals of the FF circuits 4, 5 through an OR circuit 16. The output terminal O1 of a control circuit 9 is provided to an inverter circuit 8, an AND circuit 12, and an integration circuit 10, thus permitting miscopying due to careless switching during the copying operation to be prevented.
