Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the liquid-leakage resistance of a dry cell by interposing a specific sealing agengt between a zinc can the opening of which is sealed, and a thermo-contractile resin tube covering the outer side of the said zinc can. CONSTITUTION:A sealing agent 14 is interposed between a zinc can in which a generation element is packed and the opening of which is sealed with a sealing body made of a synthetic resin, and a thermocontractile resin tube 8 covering the outer side of the can 1. The sealing agent 14, which is liquid in usual condition, is water repellent, nonvolatile, viscous, and doesn't cause any deterioration of the resin tube 8. For example, machine oil, spindle oil, liquid paraffin or a plant oil is preferred to be used as the sealing agent 14. Here, after the agent 14 is poured between the can 1 and the tube 8, the tube 8 is contracted by heating. As a result, any liquid leakage is prevented even if a pin hole develops in the side of the can 1.
