Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a pad from floating at an initial stage of braking and to avoid brake noises under light braking by arranging an elastic member between the side of lugs and the upper part of a pad guide section and accepting a light brake torque of the pad to the upper part from the center of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In this disk brake, lugs 16 formed on both sides of a pad backplate 15 are provided as capable of sliding on a pad guide section 7 formed in a step to a bracket 2, and they guide a pad 14 toward an axial direction of a disk 1. An elastic member 17 is arranged between lug sides 16a and a torque acceptance face 8 on the pad guide section 7 of the bracket 2, and a predetermined gap C is provided between both lower sides 15a of the pad backplate 15 and a torque acceptance face 9 below the pad guide section 7 of the bracket. A light brake torque is accepted by the torque acceptance face 9 on the pad guidance section, and a medium brake torque or above is accepted by the torque acceptance face 9 below the guidance section.
