Abstract
PURPOSE:To copy only the desired region of an original, by applying the charged electric charge only to the region of a photoreceptor corresponding to the copy region designated by an indicator which is set on an original board and can slide. CONSTITUTION:An indicator 44 containing a pointer 45 and a magnet 46 is attached slidably to an original board 4, and a lead switch 13 for the indicator 44 is set at the position away from point A by a distance (l). When the copy is desired to the region from the tip of an original 5 to the area away from the tip by a distance (d), the pointer 45 is set at point C away from the original tip B by the distance (d). Thus the supply of the high voltage is discontinued to a charger 2 since the magnet 46 and the switch 13 function at the time point C when the board 4 has a shift of L2-l distance. The copy is carried out from B to C, and other regions are not copied. With increase of the number of indicators 44, both the copy desired and undesired areas can be increased. Thus only the desired region can be copied.
