Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent radial vibration of a main spindle due to rotary motion of a feed screw, by providing a floating mechanism radially of a bearing part of the feed screw. CONSTITUTION:Long scale tracks 101 are formed to both outsides at a face-to- face position of a main spindle 21, and the spindle is guided by a sliding mount 10, provided in a spindle head 7, and vertically slided in the spindle head 7. Ball screws 4, 17, rotated by a motor 1, are supported by bearings to a flange part 15 of the spindle head 21 through balls 14, and positioned in the thrust direction but freely supported in the radial direction. A nut part 18, screw coupled to the ball screw 17, is freely supported radially by a bearing to a flange part 23, provided to the spindle head 21, through balls 23. A pin 26 is fixed to the nut part 18, and the pin 26 is held and guided by a pair of guide plates 28.
