Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve high speed reproduction without noise bar, by replacing the lowering in a reproduced output signal of a main rotating head caused during high speed reproduction with a reproduced output of an auxiliary rotating head. CONSTITUTION:A pulse signal per one revolution of a rotating disc 3 obtained at a detection head 14 is delayed at a signal processing section 20, and converted into a pulse signal which is at H level in the timing when a main rotary head M1 scans the start point of a track and at L level in the timing when a main rotary head M2 scans the start point of the track. When this signal is at H level, the output signal of the main rotary heads M1 and M2 is picked up, and when at L level, the output signal of auxiliary rotary heads S1 and S2 is picked up. As a result, a constant double speed reproducing video signal without noise bar at the output of a video signal demodulating circuit is obtained.
