Abstract

PURPOSE: To deash coal very effectively independently of the kinds of the coal, by finely pulverizing the coal containing the ash, and treating the finely pulverized coal with citiric acid and acidic ammonium fluoride.
CONSTITUTION: Coal containing ash is finely pulverized to give a fine particulate coal having a particle size preferably ≤100 mesh, and then dipped in an aqueous solution containing citric acid and acidic ammonium fluoride to cause the to react ash. After removing the ash, the coal is taken out of the aqueous solution. The concentrations of the citric acid and acidic ammonium fluoride in the treating solution are preferably in the range of 2.0W10.0wt% respectively.
