Abstract

PURPOSE: To capture the sulfuric acid mists in atmospheric air by passing the atmospheric air contg. sufuric acid mists through a filter kept at specific temp. and further feeding the same to a condensing area kept at specific temp.
CONSTITUTION: Sample atmospheric air contg. sulfuric acid mists is introduced into a separating area 1 by operating a pump 4. The area 1 has a filter 6 kept at 150W250°C and the solid particles contained in the atmospheric air are captured and separated by the filter 6 when it passes through said filter. The sul- furic acid mists pass through the filter 6 as gaseous sulfur trioxide. The atmospheric air removed of the solid particles is introduced through a line 7 into a condensing area 2. The area 2 is kept at 60W90°C, where the sulfuric acid contents from the area 1 are condensed. The sulfuric acids captured in the area 2 are gathered partly through a line 10 in a collecting area 3. On the other hand, the gaseous components contg. sulfur dioxide, steam, etc. are discharged to the outside of the system with the pump 4 by passing through a line 11.
