Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a high tensile steel plate having specific strength and yield ratio by subjecting a steel containing specific proportions of C, Si, Mn, Cr, and Ti to heating, hot rolling, cooling, winding, and annealing in order under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A steel, containing 0.15% or less C, 0.1W1.0% Si, 1.5W2.5% Mn, 0.2W0.6% Cr, and 0.05W0.2% Ti, together with, as needed, 0.08% or less Al, 0.020% or less S, and 0.01% or less Ti, is once heated to 1,200°C or higher. Then, the steel is hot-rolled at 850°C (at which the hot rolling is finished), cooled at an average cooling rate of 8°C/sec or more for a period of time from the end of the hot rolling to the susbsequent winding, wound up at 600°C or lower, and then annealed at a low temperature of 500W700°C. Thus, a high tensile steel plate having a strength of 70kg/mm2 or more and a yield ratio of 95% or more can be obtained.
