Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the areal expansion of an opening enclosed by a wall made of a hot Pt group metallic material by spouting a high-speed jet of an oxygen- contg. gas contg. a reducing substance from the opening. CONSTITUTION:When a high-speed jet of an oxygen-contg. gas is spouted from an opening enclosed by a hot (>=750 deg.C) Pt group metallic material such as a tubular mozzle, to the gas is added a reducing substance. As the substance a gas contg. at least 1 kind of gas selected from hydrogen, various hydrocarbons and CO is used. The reducing substance is added so as to regulate the value obtd. by dividing the reduction equiv. per hr of the spouting reducing substance by the product of the oxidation equiv. per hr of oxygen contained in the pressurized gas and spouting from the opening with the surface area of the wall to >=0.0056. The oxygen-contg. gas contains >=15vol% oxygen and >=75 vol% nitrogen, and the flow rate is regulated to >=10<6> hr<-1> space velocity.
