Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of uneven stamping due to a recess in a stamping surface, by a method wherein, in a device which stamps a square tubular member to be stamped, a mechanism for securing the member to be stamped to a support member and a means for applying a pressurizing force from an upper surface of a stamping surface are mounted. CONSTITUTION:After a member 15 to be stamped is placed on a support member 5, and a link 8 is turned through expansion of a hydraulically-operated device 7 to press a stamping surface 15a by means of a press segment 9. Then, through expansion of a hydraulically-operated 11, a support link 14 and a link 12 are spun to press a surface 15C by means of a press segment 13. The pressurizing force expands and deforms the stamping surface 15a. If, with this, a stamping mechanism 4 is actuated and a letter mold 2 is pressed against the stamping surface 15a, the stamping surface 15a is recessed inward by a stamping force. The recess, however, is absorbed at a range of an expansion deforming amount delta, and the surface is stamped in an approximate state to that of the original shape.
