Abstract

PURPOSE:To elevate the automatic thickness control performance of a titled device, by executing waveform-shaping of an entry temperature of a sizer mill, improving in advance the controllability of its sampling control, and also constituting so that an optimum sampling pitch can be set automatically. CONSTITUTION:In a sizer mill of a seamless pipe mill, a deviation of an entry temperature of a pipe which has been acturally measured by an entry thermometer 2 is shaped by a digital waveform shaping circuit having a low-pass filter function 7. That is a temperature waveform which has removed frequency being higher than a sampling pitch of an industrial process computer 8, and noise frequency is obtained, and is utilized as a feedforward controlled variable 12. At the same time, from a ferquency curve in case when a sampling pitch of the computer 8 is analyzed by a spectrum analyzing circuit 7B, an optimum value is derived and is set automatically to an optimum sampling pitch setting circuit 7C. The controlled variable 12 is commanded as a pressing-down correcting value to a hydraulic pressing-down APC 4, and pressure reduction of each sizer stand 1 is controlled.
