Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate lag of position detection timing in an overload operation by making use of the voltage-wave form induced in a rotor coil thereby detecting rotor position via a filter circuit and a delay circuit. CONSTITUTION:When driving a direct current motor having a rotor made of permanent magnet with transistors, induced voltage of each stator coil of multi- phase connection is applied to a terminal 8 and is inputted to one of the comparators 15 via a delayer consisting of an analog switch 16 that is actuated by a filter circuit 13, and load current detector 6, resistors 17 and capacitors 18, and synthesized voltage of each filter circuit is applied to other comparator 15. This output drives traisistors. Accurate position detection thus becomes possible by actuating the delaying unit at the time of overload and correcting triangular voltage wave form from the filter circuit.
