Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the expansion and remodelling of facilities when a steam turbine and an generator are cut off from each other at their coupled parts and only the generator is run as a synchronous phase modifier, by transferring the front bearing stand of the steam turbine to the end of the generator. CONSTITUTION:When the steam turbines 1, 2 of an generator are cut off from generator 4 at a coupling unit 3 and only the generator is run as a synchronous phase modifier, the front bearing stand 10 of the high-pressure turbine 1 is cut off and transferred to the end of the generator. Although lubricating oil from a main oil pump 11 in the front bearing stand 10 originally installed at the high- pressure turbine 1 would normally be supplied to bearings 5-9 through an oil turbine 15 and an oil cooler 16, the oil is supplied to the bearings 8, 9 by closing a stop valve 53 in the running of the electricity generator 4 as a synchronous phase modifier. At the time of starting, an auxiliary oil pump 18 is driven to perform adequate oil supply. At the time of turning and of emergency, oil pumps 19, 20 are driven to perform adquate oil supply.
