Abstract
PURPOSE:To smooth transferring of a sheet and improve accuracy of position by operating a step motor in half-step driving according to specified starting order using a simple electric circuit. CONSTITUTION:Exciting of adjacent phase of a step motor is started successively by a starting pulse out of pulses given alternately, and the first phase out of plural simultaneously excited phases is excited by a finishing pulse, and a sheet is transferred by a transferring mechanism obtaining power from the motor. A reading section is scanned on the transferred sheet in the direction at a right angle to the direction of transfer, and abnormality of sheet transfer is detected by detecting error in operation of the transferring mechanism and the amount of transfer of the sheet by a detecting device. Immediately after generation of output of the detecting device, supply of starting pulse and succeeding pulses is stopped. After stopping supply, even number of pulses from the starting pulse are supplied to the motor by specified starting command, and a specified amount of idling operation is made. Next, continuous supply of pulses is resumed together with reading operation. Thus, sheet transfer is smoothed by the use of simple electric circuit.
