Abstract
PURPOSE:To corrugate a metallic mesh efficiently and easily in a fixed width by twisting the tooth traces of a pair of corrugated rollers symmetrically around the center of the direction of width. CONSTITUTION:A metallic mesh 1, stockinet stitched to a cylindrical form, is flattened in radial direction and passed through a pair of corrugated rollers 2, 2 that form gears meshing with each other. Then, a symmetrically corrugated metallic mesh in which corrugation 13a parallel to the direction of width is provided in the center and oblique corrugation 11a, 12a with opposite direction of inclination and the same angle is provided on both sides of the above is obtained. In this case, the helix angle of tooth traces 21a, 22a is the same and opposite in direction. Accordingly, when the mesh 1 passes the center of rollers 2, 2, thrust forces opposite in direction are brought in equilibrium and cencel to each other. Therefore, the mesh 1 is not deviated to either side and corrugation is made in a fixed width.
