Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent property of the captioned battery, by removing the heat of reaction which is generated in the battery, maintaining the battery within the predetermined temperature range, and giving an appropriate temperature distribution. CONSTITUTION:A cell is composed of an electrolyte 11A, a cathode 12A, and anode 13A, where the cathode 12A and the anode 13A are provided at the both sides of the electrolyte 11A. Cells are laminated through a separating plate 14A. The separating plate 14A is composed of a corrugated plate 15A which forms each flowing path for cooling and oxidizing air OG, and a corrugated plate 15B which forms a flowing path for fuel hydrogen gas HG and fuel waste gas FG; and thereby the cooling part is provided in the separating plate 14A itself. Cooling air OG is fed from the direction of an arrow M1 against the flowing path in the corrugated plate 15A on one side acting as the separating plate in order to cool the cell, further the cooling air OG actining as an oxidizing agent gas comes from the direction of an arrow M2, passes between the corrugated plate 15A and the cathode 12A and then is exhausted toward the direction of an arrow M3. On the other hand, fuel hydrogen gas HG is fed from the direction of an arrow N1 into the central path of the other corrugated plate 15B, and fuel gas FG is exhausted from the direction of an arrow N2, thus a small-type fuel battery with improved output performance can be obtained.
