Abstract

PURPOSE:To fit a tire on a rim without overstraining the tire, by using an auxiliary roller to push down the bead of the tire as a shifting claw remains engaged with the rim. CONSTITUTION:A center member 3 is provided on the central part of a base 1 so that the center member can be rotated around a vertical shaft M by a support and drive unit 2. A wheel supporting plate 6 is provided on the top of the center member 3. A tire put on the plate 6 can be secured by a tightening bolt 12. A stanchion 16 is provided on the base 1. An upper horizontal hollow shaft 24 and a lower horizontal hollow shaft 25 are provided on the stanchion 16 so that these shafts can vertically be moved. A shifting claw 26 is provided on the upper horizontal hollow shaft 24. After the shifting claw 26 is moved down into the rim 47 for the tire, the bead of the tire is pushed by an auxiliary roller 28 provided on the shaft 24, thereby fitting the tire on the rim.
