Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit high-speed printing with a small-sized device and to allow printing of Chinese characters by a nozzle head wherein three metal base plates are rigidly secured to each other and grooves serving as ink flow paths are formed in each contact surface. CONSTITUTION:Three metal base plates 21, 22, 23 are rigidly secured to each other to constitute a nozzle head 20, and twelve grooves 24a serving as ink flow paths are formed on the surface of the base plate 21 and twelve openings 25 are bored therethrough. A vibrating plate 27 is provided on the rear surface of the base plate 21 to completely cover each of the openings 25 independently, and a piezoelectric element 28 is rigidly secured to each vibrating plate 27. Similarly, the base plate 23 is formed with twelve grooves 24b and twelve openings 25 and includes the vibrating plates 27 and piezoelectric elements 28. In thus arranged nozzle head, distal ends of the grooves 24a, 24b serve as nozzles, so that a nozzle head having twenty-four nozzles in total is obtained. As a result, it becomes possible to print a Chinese character with 24X24 dots at a high speed.
