PURPOSE:To obtain a battery cover which is excellent in liquid-tightness in the fitting part to an inserting plug for the liquid part, easy to manufacture and inexpensive by a method wherein a variable sleeve with a minimum internal diameter part is provided under the liquid part of the cover having a tapered internal wall. CONSTITUTION:The battery cover having a opening 2 for liquid made up of a tapered internal wall 5 facing an inserting sleeve 4 for an inserting opening plug 3 for liquid and besides providing the minimum internal diameter part (said internal diameter d is smaller than the minimum external diameter D of the inserting sleeve 4) 7 in a unitary body with the variable sleeve 6 installed above the bottom 8 under the cover opening 2 for liquid. Since above-said battery cover can adjust the fit to the inserting sleeve 4 by use of the variableness of the minimum internal diameter part 7 of the sleeve 6, so high fit accuracy is not required and the cover can be provided easily by injecting and molding elastic resin (polyethylene, polypropylene, etc.) by use of a comparatively simple and inexpensive die.
