Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the S/N without lowering the picture quality due to the smear, by dividing the frequency of a luminance signal to receive a modulation of frequency into the low and middle band regions and carrying out the fixed emphasis at the high and low band regions and the nonlinear emphasis carried at the middle band region respectively. CONSTITUTION:When the frequency of a luminance signal to be emphasized is divided into the low, middle and high band regions, the fixed emphasis is carried out at the low and high band regions. The frequency characteristics are set to have corner time constants T1, T2, T5 and T6 respectively. The nonlinear emphasis is carried out at the middle band region. The nonlinear emphasis is formed by the combination of resistances R1 and R2, capacitors C1 and C2 plus diodes D1 and D2 which are obtained by deforming the fixed emphasis.
