Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a compact and light-weight structure for a microwave converter, by inserting a dielectric substrate of a prescribed shape and incorporating a microwave IC into a square waveguide to which the microwave signal is led and in parallel to the face H of the waveguide. CONSTITUTION:An aperture 11 of a prescribed shape is provided at the position where the normal line L of the direction E of a square waveguide 10 is equally divided, and a dielectric substrate 12 is inserted through the aqerture 11. An earth conductor 15 plus a strip conductor 14 are provided on one face of the substrate 12. The other face of the substrate 12 is covered with an earth conductor 18. The conductor 15 and 18 are connected to each other via a through hole 19 and a metal 20 and form a microstrip 21 together with the conductors 14, 15 and 18. The part A of the waveguide 10 is turned into a cutoff waveguide owing to the conductors 15 and 16 to prevent a direct connection between an input terminal 16 and an output terminal 17 in the waveguide mode.
