Abstract

PURPOSE: A doffing apparatus, containing a stripping roller, carrier roller, web guide roller, trumpet, calender rollers one after another on the downstream side of a doffer, and capable of doffing a web stably even at a high speed.
CONSTITUTION: A fibrous web (W) on the peripheral surface of a doffer 21 is mechanically stripped by a stripping roller 22 provided near the peripheral surface of the doffer 21, and then guided to a carrier roller 23, having a smooth surface, and provided on the downstream side thereof by a web guide roller 24 provided in contact with the stripping roller 22 above the carrier roller 23. The web (W) is then introduced through a trumpet 25 into calender rollers 26 and 27 to give a sliver (S).
