Abstract

PURPOSE:To perfectly descale a metallic wire rod without using any pickling liquid, by transmitting ultrasonic vibrations through dies to give repeated bendings to the wire rod in abrasive materials in a descaling treatment of the surface of the wire rod of medium and high carbon steel. CONSTITUTION:Easily removable scales of the surface of a wire rod 11 made of medium and high carbon steel are removed previously through rotary brushes 2. Next, ultrasonic vibrations are given to ultrasonic vibrators 3 through a die 4 fixed to the vibrators 3 into one body.
