Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the carbon dioxide measuring electrode which can obtain highly reliable measuring results and can be readily miniaturized, by contacting an electrode wire with a reference solution contained in a tubular body and internal buffer solution between a bicarbonate ion sensitive film and carbon dioxide gas transmitting film. CONSTITUTION:The sensitive film 4 which responds to the bicarbonate ions is bonded to the lower part of an electrode tube 1. The ion electrode internal reference solution 3 is injected in the electrode tube 1. The internal reference electrode wire 2 is inserted in the tube so as to contact with the ion electrode internal reference solution 3. To the tip of the bicabonate ion electrode having the tube body, the sensitive film, and the reference solution, the carbon dioxide transmitting film 5 is fixed by an O ring 7. The space between the sensitive film 4 and the gas transmitting film is filled up with the internal buffer solution 6. A reference electrode wire 8 is inserted in the internal buffer solution 6. The upper part of the tube body 1 is covered by a cap 9. The reference electrode wires 2 and 8 are connected to the signal processing system. The numerical value corresponding to the concentration of the carbon dioxide in the solution to be measured is displayed by a display part.
