Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the humidity in the air wherein an interfering component exists, by detecting the component of the gas extracted from a hermetically sealed container, converting the value into an electric signal, and displaying the moisture activity value corresponding to said signal. CONSTITUTION:A material, standard pure water, or salt saturated solution are enclosed in the hermetically sealed container 1 and stored at a constant temperature. Thus an equilibrium state in a gaseous phase is attained. The extraction of the gas is performed by using a gas syringe, a holder 2 which keeps the temperature of a gas syringe constant and holds it, and a gas sampler 3 with a temperature regulating device. A recorder 6 is not necessarily used but it is convenient when the separating state and the measuring condition are checked by a separating device 4. An integrating device 7 obtains the numerical value of the amount of the signal of the component detected by a detecting device 5. A device 8 which obtains a relative value converts said numerical value into a relative value corresponding to the numerical value of the standard component. Then a quantity measuring line is prepared by the measured data of a standard series by a computing device 9. The measured value is converted into humidity by using said line, and the moisture activity value corresponding to this signal is displayed by a display 10.
