Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the collecting efficiency of a grid by providing inclined skeletons on the grid along current lines which are measured during discharge. CONSTITUTION:One positive and one negative electrode which are already filled with a paste and formed are faced each other with a separator between them and soaked in an electrolyte. Then the battery is discharged with a current whose magnitude is obtained by dividing a current required to start an engine by the number of plate, and the potential is measured at every part of the positive plate during the discharging using a referential electrode provided with a Lugin capillary. Equipotential lines 8 and current lines 9 (current lines always intersect with equipotential lines at right angle) are prepared from the potential distribution over each part thus obtained. Inclined skeletons 5' are provided additionally on a grid having vertical skeletons 1' horizontal skeletons 2, and a lug 3 so that the angle of inclined skeletons 5' coincide with angles of the current lines 9 defined the above.
