Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled film having a uniform thickness and with heat sealability and tear resistance, by biaxially orienting in a low rate a crystalline thermoplastic resin film, quenching it, and subjecting it to loosening heat treatment under specified conditions in longitudinal and transversal directions at a temperature not less than the natural heat shrinkage temperature. CONSTITUTION:A crystalline thermoplastic resin (for example: a high-density polyethylene, etc.) is oriented biaxially in a low rate in the order of 1.5-3.5, and is quenched to obtain a biaxially oriented film, which is subjected to loosening heat treatment at a temperature not less than the natural heat shrinkage temperature in a transversal direction and in a longitudinal direction (at the same time as the transversal direction treatment or after the transversal direction treatment) to obtain the intended film, the longitudinal direction treatment being at a loosening ratio lawer than that of the transversal direction treatment. It is preferred that the loosening heat treatment is at a temperature 10 deg.C higher than the natural heat shrinkage temperature and 5 deg.C lower than the orientation temperature, and in the case of a polyolefine the temperature is slightly below the melting point thereof, and in the case of a polyester, the temperature is preferably 80-100 deg.C.
