Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of power supply, by setting the power source voltage of a power amplifying part in a PCM signal regenerating device to a voltage having a magnitude proportional to that of a PCM signal. CONSTITUTION:A PCM signal is converted to an analogue audio signal by a D/A converter 3 after being delayed in a delay circuit 2 by a time gamma. This audio signal is amplified by a power amplifying part 4 and is applied to a speaker 5. The PCM signal has the number of bits converted to 1/2 by a code converter and is converted to an analogue signal by a D/A converter 7. This analogue signal is converted to a pulse width modulation wave by a pulse width modulating circuit 8 and is applied to a frequency dividing circuit 13 through an isolation 12. The output of the frequency dividing circuit 13 is applied to a push pull inverter circuit 14, and the output is rectified to generate a DC voltage proportional to the amplitude of the analogue signal. This DC voltage is applied to the power supply terminal of the power amplifying part 4.
