Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the time necessary for the fixation of boots and belt exchanging work by winding a steel belt onto the edge of a boot and cutting the belt to a prescribed length, while pressing it from outside, and welding the overlapped portion of belt by a laser beam.
CONSTITUTION: In fixation of a rubber boots for the purspose of providing water- proof and dustproof member, the cylindrical edge part 5 of a boots 4 is inserted onto a boot fixing part 9, then vertically movable abutting jig 10 is lowered, and the boot is pressed and sunk by an abutting piece 11. Then, a steel belt 8 is inserted between the cylindrical edge part 5 and a three-divided clamp jig 12 arranged in the periphery of the cylindrical edge part 5, and the belt 8 is transported from a roll 13, and the wound belt is cut into a prescribed length, being pressed by the clamp jig 12, and the overlapped portion of belt is welded by a laser beam 19. Fusion is sperformed in a short time by the high energy of the laser beam, fixation of boots and belt exchange can be carried out rapidly.
