Abstract

PURPOSE: To granulate a powdery dipeptide sweetener, without loss of the sweetness, by mixing the dried dipeptide sweetener powder with other dried powdery vehicle, and granulating the mixture in the presence of a small amount of binder.
CONSTITUTION: 0.3W50pts.wt. of a powdery dipeptide sweetener (α-L-aspartyl-L- phenylalanine methyl ester) is mixed with 99.7W50pts.wt. of a vehicle (e.g. lactose, anhydrous lactose, dextrin, gelatin, soluble starch, sucrose, sorbitol, etc.), and 1W30pts.wt. of a binder (water, alcohol, dextrin, gelatin, gum, saccharide, etc.), and the mixture is granulated by the extrusion granulation, fluidizing granulation, agitation granulation, or compression granulation.
