Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the distortion of an image pickup device precisely by using a turntable which turns the image pickup device precisely and a computer which processes a picture signal in combination in addition to a collimator and a chart. CONSTITUTION:The angle of an image pickup device 1 whose distortion is to be measured is read by a rotational angle measuring instrument 8 after setting at a prescribed angle by a turntable 7. The output of a line sensor 2 is processed through the A/D conversion of a processing circuit 9, whose output is inputted to a computer 10. In this constitution, a pattern 11 shown in the figure is fixed to a movable chart 5 and the output of the line sensor 2 is processed by the computer 10 to calculate picture element signals which correspond to the pattern 11. The output levels 16 of them are calculated to find image positions on respective lines of the pattern 1 with precision of about 1/10 picture element. Then, the table 7 is turned to left and right and the measurement is performed similarly. Thus, the distortion of the image pickup device is measured precisely.
