Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate human read errors, perform calibration operation automatically with high accuracy and improve reliability by recording the output of a reference detector and the display output of an extensometer in a recorder.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of calibrating the indicating values of an extensometer 4 by mounting the arms 5a, 5B of the extensometer 4 requiring calibration together with pseudo test pieces 3A, 3B to the test piece clamping jaws of a stationary base 1 and a moving head 2, the reference detector 6 of a length-digital signal transducer is placed on the stationary base 1 and the measuring element 7 at the end is so disposed as to contact the moving head 2. The electric outputs of the display unit 9 of the extensometer 4 and the reference detector 6 are connected to a printer unit 12 via cables 10, 11 respectively and furter the elongation setter to be calibrated and other are incorporated into the unit 12, whereby the signal is emitted when the set value and count value coincide in correspondence to the displacement quantity of the reference detector 6 and the reading of the extensometer is parallel printed. These are repeated and errors are obtained by comparison of both numerical values
