Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled apparatus, containing movable blades for crushing the core of feathers provided in a crushing mechanism and a sharp discriminating apparatus having a sorting plate thereunder, a taking outlet at the top and agitating means in the interior thereof, and capable of removing the core of the feathers and taking out the feather fibers therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: Feathers are fed from a sucking inlet 11 into the body of a crushing apparatus 5 and pushed into the side of rotating blades 16 by a piston 6 to cut down or crush the core parts thereof. In this state, the feathers are then sent through a connecting duct 3 to a feeding chamber 23 in a sharp discriminating mechanism 2 and then poured on agitating arms 29 one after another. The heaviest feathers are passed through the holes of a perforated sorting plate 31 and accumulated in the bottom of the body 21 of the sharp discriminating apparatus. The cut feathers are then piled on the perforated sorting plate 31. The lightest feather fibers are sucked through a blower 27 and sent to a containing bag 26 through a taking out duct (25A).
