Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and to obtain high performance by providing a large space between a housing and an oil separator which has a center hole to be fitted over the outer circumference of a rotor bearing extending outside center of a side block. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary compressor for compressing of the refrigerant for an automotive air conditioner and the like, a free space 53 is provided an oil separator 50 and a housing 1, said oil separator 50 being of annular shape or partial cut annular shape with its center hole being fitted over and fixed by a bolt 56 to the outer circumference of a bearing 51' of a rotor 8 which has a vene 7 rotatably supported between a front and a rear side blocks 6 and 52. Thus, the maximum utilization of the space within the housing 1 can be made while the lubricant in the refrigerant gas which flows through a connecting hole 15 adheres to a back plate 54 and a wire net 55 and drops down by the gravity and the oil still remaining in the refrigerant drops down in the free space 53 as its velocity reduces.
