Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the size and to improve the vibration withstandability of a vane type compressor used in an air conditioner for car, by arranging the bearing section and the sliding rotary force transmitting section in the limiting space at the central portion of a rotor.
CONSTITUTION: A vane type compressor constructed of a plurality of cylinders 4 formed with a plurality of working chambers 8a, 8b and a rotor 2 having a plurality of vane grooves and rotatable in the cylinder 4 has small projection of vane 3 when the rotor 2 is rotated. Consequently the vane groove can be made shallow to enable the insertion of the bearing projection 23 into the rotor 2. Consequently the bearing section 12, 26 of the drive shaft 1 and the rotary force transmitting section 22 can be provided at the central portion of the rotor 2, resulting in the reduction of the size of vane type compressor and the improvement of the vibration withstandability.
