Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the thermal stress of a main steam stop valve for a steam turbine which is a component of a Rankine cycle, by supplying temperature- reduced leaking steam from a steam regulating valve to the cooling holes of the body of the main steam stop valve through distribution headers. CONSTITUTION:Numerous cooling holes 36, 40 are provided at regular intervals in the body 13 of a main steam stop valveI. One end of each of the cooling holes 36, 40 is connected to one of distribution headers 38, 41. The leakage pipes 34, 35 of a steam regulating valve II are connected to the distribution headers 38, 41. The other ends of the cooling holes 36, 40 are connected to recovery headers 37, 43.
