Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure various sorts of ions containing HCO3<-> by the same measuring cell, by inejcting an alkali solution and measuring another ion concentration after injecting an acid solution in a solution to be inspected and measuring HCO3<-> concentration. CONSTITUTION:A solution 2 to be inspected in a cuvette 9 is injected in a measuring cell 1 by operating a roller pump 10 and an acid solution is injected in the cell 1 from an acid solution tank 14 by operating a roller pump 16. The solution 2 and the acid solution in the cell 1 are stirred and CO2 is isolated from HCO3<-> in the solution 2. Said CO2 is measured by a PCO2 electrode 3. After the measurement of HCO3<-> concentration is finished, an alkali solution is injected in the cell 1 from an alkali solution tank 15 by operating a roller pump 17 and the pH value of the solution is returned to the original pH value. After the lapse of a fixed time in this condition, other ion seeds e.g. Na<+>, K<+>, Cl<-> ions are measured by selective electrodes 4, 5, 6.
