Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled accelerator which is easy to handle, by a method wherein a powdered vulcanization c accelerator is dispersed in an aq. soln. of a water-soluble anionic high-molecular compd. contg. COOH group or OH group, the mixt. is dropped into an aq. soln. of an alkaline earth metal salt for granulation, the resulting mixt is filtered and the product is dried.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Powdered vulcanization accelerator (A) (e.g. guanidine or ethylene-thiourea) is dispersed in an aq. soln. (B) contg. 2W8pts.wt. water- soluble anionic high-molecular compd. having carboxyl group or hydroxyl group in the molecule (e.g. sodium alginate). The mixture is dropped into an aq. soln (C) contg. an alkaline earth metal salt (e.g. CaCl2 or ZnSo4) for granulation. The resulting mixture is filtered and the product is dried to obtain the desived particulate vulcanization accelerator. By this method, there can be obtd. a particulate material of 1W5mm in particle size in which component A is uniformly enclosed in the reaction product between components B and C. There is no difference between the particulate material and the powdered material in dispersibility into rubbers. The particulate material is more easier to handle.
