Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a record with little disorder in recording, by arranging a braking member to be positioned on the tip side of a recording body in relation to a carriage which can reciprocate along a platen while the recording body facing the platen is mounted thereon. CONSTITUTION:A guide plate 23 formed of a magnetic member, with which the upper part of the tip of a supporting piece 13 contacts constantly in a sliding manner, serving as a sliding part 22, is provided in parallel with the platen 3 and fixed to a frame. In the sliding part 22 is formed a cut 24 facing the guide plate 23, and a magnet 25 is buried in the cut 24 with a prescribed gap separating it from the guide plate 23. In this way, the braking member 26 is composed of the sliding member 22, the guide plate 23 and the magnet 25, and when the carriage 7 stops based on a signal, braking is applied between the guide plate 23 and the sliding part 22 by the magnet 25 facing the guide plate 23, whereby the carriage 7 is stopped instantaneously. On the occasion, since the braking member 26 is arranged on the tip side of a ball-point pen 12, a gap between the tip of the ball-point pen 12 conducting recording operation and the stop point of the carriage is small and thus the disorder in recording is little.
