Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled head of high quality with extended length by a construction wherein heating elements are disposed to stand on different levels for respective unit heads so as to avoid the occurrence of a gap in the connecting portion wherein recording is otherwise made unable. CONSTITUTION:A unit head 4 is formed of a base plate 5 having a trapezoid shape whose one end side 5A is inclined at an angle of about 45 deg., and heating elements 61- 6N are disposed in parallel to opposing two sides of the base plate 5 and at a position slightly biased toward one of those two sides. To both ends of each of the heating elements 61-6N are connected lead electrodes 7 extending in parallel to the end side 5A. In this way, two trains of heating elements standing on different levels are formed in a heat-sensitive recording head 9. When recording with this head 9, recording signals are supplied to N numbers of heating elements in one train over which thermo- sensitive paper passes first and then N numbers of heating elements in the other train are supplied with other recoring signals which have been delayed by a period of time necessary for the heat-snsitive paper to pass over the two trains of heating elements. At this time, it is not required to supply the recording signal to the heating resistance element 61 among the latter heating elements N in numbers 61-6N over which a part of the heat-sensitive papers having finished the previous recording processes.
